It is a common misconception that Craps is very difficult to learn. To play Craps, you have to memorize so many different bets, so many areas of the table diagram, and what it takes to win some of these bets. In reality, it only takes a few moments to learn to play Craps. It’s a matter of starting out small and working your way up to the more intricate wagers.
If you’ll start with the most simplistic of bets – the Pass Line Bet – you’ll find that Craps is not just easy to learn, it’s often considered to be the most exciting game in the entire casino.
The best way to learn Craps is to practice. Don’t put real money on the line just yet. Using play money, you can quickly learn to play Craps, understanding the best bets to make, the easiest bets to win, and where to place your chips for single roll and multi-roll bets.
Of course you won’t be able to walk into a real casino and say, “Hey, can I get some play-money chips? I want to learn to play Craps!” No, they’re not going to give you play-money chips. At best, they’ll suggest watching the game for awhile. In a real casino, though, it’s hard to keep up with what’s going on if you don’t fully understand the game to begin with.
Instead, you play at an online casino, where practice play is a common occurrence. We’ve made it much easier than this, however. Don’t waste your time signing up at a new online casino just to hit the Craps table. Just scroll down to the bottom of this page and use our free, integrated Craps table, courtesy of Bodog Casino.
Before you start practicing your Craps game, you may wish to read a little more about it. We’ve documented all of the information you’ll need to learn to play Craps. Please feel free to check out some of these other links.
First, you’ll want to read our Craps Rules. These will tell you all about the game and how it’s played.
Next, check out our Craps Betting page. Here, you’ll learn about all of the betting options in Craps. There are single roll bets and multi-roll bets. We suggest starting out with multi-roll bets, especially the Pass Line bet to begin with. You can also use the Don’t Pass Line, which is the opposite of the Pass Line bet.
Note: In a live casino Craps game, few players bet on Don’t Pass because it is a wager against the shooter. Most people don’t want to go against the shooter. In reality, the Don’t Pass Line wager has a slightly lower house edge. When you’re playing at an online casino, you don’t have to worry about offending the shooter, or anyone betting on the shooter. So go ahead and bet on the Don’t Pass Line if you wish :)
Last, be sure to read about Craps Dice Combinations. This will teach you about the different combinations of dice rolled by the shooter, and how they affect different wagers.
Craps Game Structure
The structure is pretty simple. You have one shooter, and as many bettors as can fit around the table. In online Craps, you are always the bettor, not the shooter. Bettors place their wagers, then the shooter tosses the dice. The bettors wager will either win, lose or remain on the table (depending on the type of bet – see Craps Betting for more info.)

Learn to Play Craps
Please use our free integrated Craps table, provided by Bodog Casino, to learn to play Craps like a pro. Before you get started, we’ll give you a brief walk-through of how to use the Craps game table.
The first thing you’ll want to do is choose a bet size. Notice the chips at the bottom middle of the screen, labeled $1, $5, $25 and $100. Click on the chip size you wish to wager, and the chosen chip will appear in the bottom left corner, stating “Amount To Bet Per Click”. (Note that you start at $1. Clicking the $100 chip will add $100, totaling $101. You’ll need to click the $1 chip in the “Amount To Bet Per Click” section to remove the $1 chip, for a $100 bet total.)
To place a wager, click on the area of the Craps table diagram you wish to wager. The table limit is $100 per bet. If you choose the $25 chip, you can click the area twice to wager two chips ($50).
We suggest starting with a Pass Line or Don’t Pass Bar bet. Keep practicing and before you know it, you’ll understand how to play Craps. Good luck!
